Three units of the Medical University of Warsaw operate in the Princess Anna Mazowiecka Clinical Hospital: the Chair and 2nd Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Department of Gynecological Endocrinology, and the Department of Neonatology and Neonatal Intensive Care. WUM students receive training here from leading specialists. Both scientific and clinical research are actively conducted at the hospital.
Ewa Piotrowska led the hospital for 12 years. Earlier, she held various positions there, beginning her career as a midwife, then serving as head midwife in the Department of High-Risk Pregnancy, followed by Deputy Director for Nursing, and ultimately Hospital Director. This experience allowed her to gain in-depth knowledge of the hospital, its organization, and daily operations. As a midwife and later as a supervisor, she remained close to both staff and patients. As Director, she modernized the hospital, guided by her belief that both patients and staff deserve world-class standards of care and working conditions.
“I would like to extend my sincere congratulations and gratitude for these achievements in the fields of clinical, organizational, administrative, and managerial work, on behalf of the academic community of the Medical University of Warsaw,” wrote Prof. Rafał Krenke, Rector of WUM, in his letter of congratulations.
The Rector presented the letter in person during the farewell ceremony, which took place in the hospital’s conference room. The event was attended by members of the hospital’s management, heads of WUM clinical units operating on Karowa Street, almost all hospital staff, and numerous guests. Among them were Dr. Tomasz Maciejewski, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Health; Anna Dudzińska, Chair of the Regional Council of the Warsaw District Chamber of Nurses and Midwives; Barbara Mazurkiewicz, Vice Chair of the Regional Council of the Warsaw District Chamber of Nurses and Midwives; Prof. Marek Krawczyk, Rector of WUM from 2008 to 2016; and Prof. Paweł Włodarski, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at WUM.
