Minister of Health awards for 2023

Received by five of our academic staff. The diplomas were handed by Piotr Bromber, Undersecretary of State, and the award ceremony was held at WUM Medical University of Warsaw.

Individual awards

Received by:

•    Professor Hanna Szajewska, head of the Pediatrics clinic and chairperson of the WUM Medical Sciences Discipline Board for all her accomplisments. Prof. Szajewska’s main research and clinical interest focuses on: child nutrition and medical nutrition therapy; effect of early life nutrition on the risk of diseases at a later age; diet-related diseases; food allergies and gluten-related disesases; modification of gastrointestinal microbiota through the use of biotics (pro-, pre-, syn- and postbiotics).
 
•    Maria Pokorska-Śpiewak, PhD hab., research & teaching assistant at WUM Childhood Infectious Diseases Clinic for innovative research on new methods of hepatitis C treatment in children, within the scope of POLAC Project, a treatment program she has developed and managed.

Group prize for teaching team

Awarded to a team of: prof. Marcin Grabowski, Agnieszka Kołodzińska, PhD hab., Renata Główczyńska, PhD hab. All from the 1st Department and Clinic of Cardiology. They were awarded for the scientific editing of a book entitled “Elektroradiologia” [Radiation Therapy], published by Wydawnictwo PZWL in 2022. The book covers various aspects of radiation therapy, from indications to implantation of cardiac implantable devices, discussing the efficiency of various radiation therapy methods through analysis of complications up to cardiac stimulator inspection and remote monitoring of patients with implanted devices.
