Minister of Health Awards Granted

The Minister of Health has recognized academic teachers from medical universities for their outstanding achievements in science, teaching, implementation, and organization, as well as for their overall academic achievement. This year’s recipients include teachers from our University.

The awards were distributed by Katarzyna Kęcka, Undersecretary of State, at the office of the Ministry of Health. Also present at the ceremony were Mariusz Klencki, Director of the Department for the Development of Medical Personnel, and Magdalena Przydatek, Deputy Director. Invitations were also extended to rectors of the recipients’ universities. The award ceremony was held on November 25. 

Award Winners from WUM

  • Professor Agnieszka Cudnoch-Jędrzejewska, Liana Puchalska, PhD, Michał Kowara, PhD received a team award for teaching activity – for editing a two-volume coursebook for students titled “Fizjologia i patofizjologia. Podręcznik dla studentów (tom I i II)”, which is a comprehensive presentation of the concepts in physiology and pathophysiology (award granted at the request of the WUM Rector).
  • Professor Alicja Wiercińska-Drapało received a personal award for academic activity – for her significant and versatile achievements in medical sciences, including her work on infectious diseases, hepatology, and tropical medicine (award granted at the Minister’s initiative).
  • Professor Tomasz Dzierżanowski received a team award (as a co-author, together with Professor Marek Wojtukiewicz from the Medical University of Białystok) for teaching activity – for editing an innovative coursebook titled “Leczenie bólu u chorych z nowotworami” (award granted at the Minister’s own initiative).
  • Dariusz Rolski, PhD Hab., received a team award (as a co-author) – for co-authoring a coursebook titled “Chirurgia stomatologiczna i szczękowo-twarzowa”, edited by Professor Mansur Rahmana–Hezavah (award granted at the request of the rector of the Medical University of Lublin).
  • Paweł Kowalczyk, PhD, and Professor Dariusz Szukiewicz received a team award (as co-authors) for teaching activity – for co-authoring a coursebook titled “Biofizyka”, edited by Professor Leszek Kubisz (award granted at the request of the rector of the Poznan University of Medical Sciences).
  • Anna Burdzińska, PhD Hab., and Professor Leszek Pączek received a team award (as co-authors) for academic achievement – for their novel publications resulting from the team implementation of a research project titled “Integrated transcriptomic, proteomic and metabolomic analysis of molecules that mediate homing of mesenchymal stem cells to renal cancer”, which focuses on the pathogenesis of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (award granted at the request of the director of the Centre of Postgraduate Medical Education).
