Meeting with “Polfa” Management

Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong, the Rector, and representatives of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences authorities visited Tarchomińskie Zakłady Farmaceutyczne “Polfa” pharma factory. They met with the Management Board of the Company to discuss the options for strengthening their collaboration in the field of student education, pursuing Industrial PhD Program projects and organization of postgraduate studies.

Jarosław Król, Board President of the Company, hosted the meeting. 

Student education

With regard to student education, one of the discussion topics was about the perspective of organizing single classes at TZF Polfa in the course of studies, as well as holiday internships and practice in research methodology during preparation for writing the Master thesis. The discussion also covered the internship options for students of pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Industrial PhD Program

Part of the discussion was dedicated to Industrial PhD projects.  Maciej Dawidowski, PhD hab., deputy chair of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Discipline Board, informed the Company Management of the procedures implemented by the Discipline Board for such PhD courses. He further noted that the expert staff of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences may act as supervisors of Industrial PhDs.

Organization of postgraduate studies

During the meeting, collaboration opportunities were discussed in respect of organization of postgraduate studies for employees working in the pharmaceutical industry, in the field of advanced drug formulation and specialization training in industrial pharmacy.

The conclusion was to discuss further details of the collaboration at subsequent working meetings.

The Wum Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences was represented by: Piotr Luliński, PhD hab., Dean; Agnieszka Bazylko, PhD hab., Vice-Dean for training in the field of pharmacy; Maciej Dawidowski, PhD hab., deputy chair of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Discipline Board, and Sławomir Białek, PhD, coordinator of postgraduate training in the Faculty fields of study.
