Medical graduates with coveted diplomas

This year, 626 male and female physicians received MUW diplomas. - Your presence in the university was a great value. Today it is a source of pride and joy for your success," said Prof. Rafal Krenke, Dean of the Faculty and host of the ceremony.

The 89th graduation ceremony of the Faculty of Medicine was held on October 29 at the Double Tree by Hilton hotel in Warsaw, where nearly 2,000 people - graduates and their families, as well as invited guests from the medical and academic community - attended the occasion.

Message from the Rector

The ceremonial promotion is the culmination of six years of hard work during their studies and an important event in the lives of young doctors. Rector Zbigniew Gaciong began by congratulating the graduates, and reminded them of the idea of practicing the profession. - Medicine is assisting at the birth of a new life, saving health, and donating life - because what is organ transplantation if not the donation of life? These are also difficult moments: our helplessness, the patient's suffering, accompanying the dying. A particle of this must reach us. In this way, we can give the patient and his loved ones sincere compassion and true empathy.

The Rector also noted that the profession imposes obligations and demands. - We are a profession of public trust. Society expects us to be open-minded, tolerant, respectful of the other person. Remember that the consent to any form of violence deprives us of our humanity. We are above divisions and borders - he stressed.

A message from the dean

The Dean Prof. Rafal Krenke, in turn, pointed out how important it is in the life of every doctor to be guided by values such as faith, hope, love and knowledge. He recalled the words of Prof. Andrzej Szczeklik and pointed to the trait of a dedicated doctor, which is perseverance in the struggle with the disease. - A doctor is someone whose patients' well-being is truly at heart - he said. - Someone who is not only physically at the patient's bedside, but also constantly looking for ways to help them. You will soon see for yourself that there is no more beautiful and uplifting feeling than the joy and satisfaction of restoring a patient's health.

Finally, the Dean stressed that whatever path the graduates choose, he would like the experiences they gained during their studies to help and motivate them. And that they should be good, decent people. - It's up to you what ethical standards you represent.
