Medical analytics graduate receives award

Jakub Kalinowski, a graduate of the Medical Analytics program at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Medical University of Warsaw, won second place in the National Master’s Thesis Competition organized by the Polish Society of Laboratory Diagnostics and the Association–College of Laboratory Medicine in Poland.

The award-winning thesis, entitled “Phenotypic and genomic analysis of the resistome and investigation of heterogeneous resistance in multidrug-resistant clinical isolates of Enterobacter spp.”, was prepared under the academic supervision of Dr. hab. n. med. Ksenia Szymanek-Majchrzak. The competition jury emphasized the thesis’s high scientific standard and its particular significance for research into antimicrobial resistance, which remains one of the greatest challenges in modern medicine and laboratory diagnostics.

This achievement confirms the high standard of education at our university and reflects the strong emphasis our academic staff place on developing not only students’ professional competencies but also their scientific interests.
