The winners of the "Perspektywy Medycyny" 2023 competition

The winners were announced yesterday at the gala of the 4th "Health of Poles" 2023 Congress. In the category "Modern medical education", the statuette was won by the SGH-WUM Executive MBA in health care. Also among the winners were Prof. Grzegorz Opolski and Prof. Marcin Grabowski from the First Chair and Department of Cardiology UCC MUW, and Prof. Renata Górska from the Department of Periodontology and Oral Medicine MUW.

The purpose of the "Perspektywy Medycyny" competition is to promote experts, leaders and teams that contribute to raising the level of Polish medicine and supporting positive changes in health care in Poland, while improving the quality of medical care, and popularizing pro-health attitudes. The competition accompanies the annual "Health of Poles" Congress. The awards were presented for the second time.

Winners from MUW 

Three awards were given in the "Modern Medical Education" category. One of them went to MUW and SGH for the SGH-WUM MBA program in health care. It was received by Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong, Rector of MUW, and Prof. Piotr Wachowiak, Rector of the Warsaw School of Economics. The award underscores the high level and innovation of the SGH-WUM MBA in Health Care program, which combines management sciences with medicine, focusing on practical solutions and the latest developments in medical education. The program is accredited by the international Association of MBAs, which has been awarding international certification to the best universities running Master of Business Administration programs for more than 50 years.

The program managers are: on the part of SGH - Monika Raulinajtys-Grzybek, on the part of MUW - Artur Białoszewski.

In the "Organization - Health Care" category, the award went to Prof. Marcin Grabowski, head of the 1st Chair and Department of Cardiology UCC MUW, and Prof. Grzegorz Opolski, head of the 1st Chair and Department of Cardiology UCC MUW from 1998 to 2021. They were recognized for their leadership and development of the chair and department, one of the best centers in the country in terms of both scientific standing and cardiac treatment and diagnostics. Prof. Marcin Grabowski also received an honorable mention in the "Innovation and Implementation" category for his program of transcatheter treatment of patients with severe tricuspid regurgitation.
A special award went to Prof. Renata Górska from the Department of Periodontology and Oral Medicine MUW, president of the Polish Society of Periodontology, for her contribution to medical education, the education of many generations of dentists, periodontal specialists, and the establishment of the Polish Society of Periodontology and its subsequent introduction into the structures of the EFP - the European Federation of Periodontology.

 

Also awarded in the competition were: Adam Niedzielski, Minister of Health, Adam Struzik, Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, and Elżbieta Lanc, member of the Board of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship; Filip Nowak, President of the National Health Fund.
