"The House of Medics was created out of the need to find a seat to carry out aid activities, but not only. Students also wanted to have a place of "decent entertainment." said Grażyna Jermakowicz, the acting Director of the Medical History Museum MUW. "During the fundraising process, the young people associated in the Circle showed extraordinary organizational, literary and acting skills.”
The members of the Circle were obliged by the Board to work on the organization of the House. Students were eager to get involved in those activities. They sold stamps promoting the construction and were looking for donors. They also physically helped on the construction site. They organized various cultural events, e.g., famous medical nativity scenes. In addition to the multitude of doctors and professors, they invited numerous representatives of social and political life, including the president's wife, Maria Mościcka, to the honorary committee. Finally, there was a grand opening, which was combined with the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Circle of Medics.
When encouraging visitors to explore the exhibition, Grażyna Jermakowicz drew attention to the souvenirs collected in the display cases, especially the commemorative tablecloth with embroidered signatures of the participants of the friends' meetings of the 1934-1939 Faculty of Medicine. One of the display cases also includes a stone plaque with the name of the architect who designed the modernist House of Medics, i.e., Stanisław Odyniec-Dobrowolski.
Marcin Wojciechowski, the president of the "Circle of Medics" Foundation, also spoke about the activities of the Circle at the opening:
"The Circle was involved in practically all aspects of student life, from studying, entertaining to helping students. Hiking camps were one of the activities they organized. The students went to the east, where they provided medical advice and promoted Polish culture in Volhynia and other areas of the Second Polish Republic".
Jan Pertkiewicz, son of Marian Pertkiewicz, the president of the club in 1935-1936, was a guest at the opening. The event was also attended by: Prof. Marek Krawczyk, MUW Rector in the years 2008-2016, Jarosław Prugar, MUW Vice Chancellor, Prof. Aleksandra Banaszkiewicz, Vice Dean for Student Affairs of the Faculty of Medicine MUW, Prof. Bogdan Ciszek, the Head of the Department of Descriptive and Clinical Anatomy MUW, Prof. Jerzy Jurkiewicz, the president of the Warsaw Medical Society.
