Among the experts leading the course was Prof. Schalk van der Merwe of Katholieke Universiteit Leuven ( KU Leuven), one of the recognized specialists in interventional endoscopy. The course was also led by specialists from the Department of Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine, as well as experts from the 2nd Department of Radiology at the University Clinical Center of the Medical University of Warsaw (UCK WUM).
“The invitation of radiologists to participate in the course is due the interdisciplinary nature of the diagnosis and treatment of patients with hepatopancreatobiliary diseases and also the need for close collaboration between endoscopy and radiology teams,” emphasizes Prof. Adam Przybyłkowski, Head of the Department.
During the training, advanced endoscopic procedures were performed using the latest therapeutic techniques employed in the treatment of diseases of the liver, pancreas, and biliary tract. The procedures were broadcast live to the conference room, thanks to which the participants were enabled to follow the various stages of the procedures in real time and discuss the techniques used with the operators and invited experts.
The Endo HPB Masterclass was very well received by the participants, who highly valued the academic standard of the training, its practical nature, and the opportunity to exchange experiences directly with experts from Poland and abroad.
