Aim of the project: strengthening the communication competences of medical students

Modern medical education faces increasing challenges, such as the increasing complexity of clinical cases, the increase in the number of chronic diseases and the rapid digitization of healthcare. Effective doctor-patient communication is crucial for the quality of care, but most curricula of medical studies lack structured education in the field of interpersonal, digital and AI-assisted communication. This leads to misdiagnoses, medical errors and reduced adherence of patients to therapeutic recommendations.

The EMPOWERED project, based on scientific evidence, stakeholder feedback and digital innovation, aims to create a scalable and implementable solution for European higher education institutions in the field of doctor-patient communication.

During the meeting, Prof. Michał Grąt, the Vice Rector, emphasized the importance of the EMPOWERED project, which is to have an effect on:

  • strengthening doctor-patient communication competences in medical education,
  • the innovation of medical education through the use of practical tools, VR and solutions supported by artificial intelligence,
  • improving the quality of patient care and treatment outcomes through more effective communication,
  • setting a benchmark for the modernization of medical education across Europe.

Achieving these results will be possible thanks to good international cooperation.
