Scientist of the year 2022

Aleksandra Gąsecka-van der Pol, MD, PhD, has received the Medwoman 2022 - Scientist of the Year Award. Our specialist was recognized by the „Women of Medicine” Foundation for the above-average results of her research work.

In justification of the award to our young scientist it was written:

"...for research activities in Polish and European structures. Including projects on differences in interventional treatment of myocardial infarction and antiplatelet therapy in men and women, conductedas part of the activities on the board of the Young Thrombosis Researchers Group of the European Society of Cardiology".

140 articles and 2120 citations
In awarding the prize, the jury also took into account the entire past output of our 33-year-old scientist. And this is more than 140 scientific articles indexed in PubMed with a total IF of 622. Hirsch index of 21.  2,120 number of citations. (data from March 20, 2023)

Presentation of the award
Our scientist received the award at the WomenInMed Conference. The title of Medwoman of the Year is awarded in four categories: Manager in the Public Sector, Manager in the Private Sector, Scientist as well as Grand Prix. These awards are a way to recognize and appreciate the commitment of women who have achieved above-average results in their work. And by doing so, they can be an inspiration to others that it is worthwhile to act according to one's own goals.
