The CePT zone at the 16th Mazovia Development Forum

The ways in which innovation and modern technologies are changing medicine, economy, and societies were discussed by representatives of the Center for Preclinical Research and Technology (CePT) Consortium at the 16th Mazovia Development Forum [16. Forum Rozwoju Mazowsza].

The Forum had been organized by the Masovian Unit for Implementation of EU Programs, and the CePT Consortium, led by our University, took part in the event for the fourth time.

“We treat the participation in this type of initiatives as an integral part of our mission, since these initiatives offer a direct opportunity to build relations with representatives of business, public administration, national institutions, and other key partners. Such relations may make other important initiatives possible and may help develop intersectoral collaboration in the future,” emphasized Beata Piekutowska, head of CePT office.

Intersectoral collaboration in science is particularly important, as it facilitates the translation of theoretical knowledge into clinical practice and helps with development of innovative treatments and technologies that improve the patients’ health and quality of life.

Regarding the potential of research infrastructure and innovation

The CePT was presented in a professional way thanks to scientists and specialists from:

  • the Medical University of Warsaw
  • the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences
  • the Institute of High Pressure Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences
  • the University of Warsaw
  • the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences

Experts discussed the possibility of using CePT’s advanced research infrastructure, and innovative solutions in the fields of medicine, biotechnology, and new technologies that they are developing.
Moreover, the CePT organized a workshop “Evaluation of AI models in biomedical imaging: metrics, pitfalls, and best practices” on how to assess the effectiveness of AI models used in medical imaging analysis, how to interpret the results, and how to recognize limitations of the methods used. The workshop was conducted by Associate Professor Michał Byra, PhD, Eng., from the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences, a specialist in neural networks and biomedical imaging analysis.

Regarding the Center for Preclinical Research and Technology

The CePT is one of the greatest biomedical and biotechnological initiatives in the Central and Eastern Europe and one of the most important investments in Polish science. The Consortium combines leading universities and science institutes, which together conduct studies on lifestyle diseases, modern diagnostic methods, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, AI, and innovative therapies.
