About Professor Jerzy Choróbski at WUM

The Museum of the History of Medicine organized a meeting with Dr. Andrzej Gąsecki, the author of a book and a film about Professor Jerzy Choróbski.

During the intimate gathering, a 60-minute documentary titled “Professor Jerzy Choróbski, founder of Polish neurosurgery, an indomitable son of Poland” was screened. Both the book and the film demonstrate that Professor Choróbski was an exceptionally remarkable figure – a pioneer of Polish brain surgery and a hero who fought for Poland’s national interests in the armed struggles of the twentieth century.

The event was organized by the Museum of the History of Medicine and attended, among others, by Professor Paweł Włodarski, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Professor Marek Krawczyk, Rector of the Medical University of Warsaw from 2008 to 2016.
