The European Science Fair is a joint venture of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and the MTP Group. The event had an international character, and its organization coincided with Poland's assumption of the presidency of the Council of the European Union. The initiators of the fair stressed that Polish science must work for the benefit of Polish industry, which is why it is so important to build bridges between the scientific, business and public administration communities.
What was happening at the booth of the Medical University of Warsaw?
At our booth, information was provided by staff from the Technology Transfer Center, the Academic Clinical Research Support Center and the Communication and Promotion Office.
The Representatives of the Technology Transfer Center, which supports, among other things, the transfer of research results to the economy, presented selected innovative results of scientific research conducted at MUW, as well as technologies developed by our researchers. It was possible to learn more about, for example, the research assistant for automatic analysis of medical data in cardiology or the intraosseous hearing implant, which is an innovative method of direct stimulation of inner ear structures via bone conduction.
The employees of the Academic Clinical Research Support Center talked about, among other things, the principles of clinical research implementation and standard operating procedures. They also spoke about the Clinical Research Support Center, for the creation of which our university, in consortium with UCC MUW, has received PLN 29.5 million, and which will enable cooperation between specialists in various fields. It will host innovative, multicenter non-commercial and commercial clinical trials based on the structures of MUW and UCC MUW.
The Communication and Promotion Office provided information on the non-scientific activities of the university, suggested who to contact at MUW, and exchanged experiences with other universities present at the fair. And there were more than 20 of them, including the University of Lodz, Bialystok University of Technology, Karol Marcinkowski Medical University in Poznań.
Our booth also featured a variety of videos: about the Center for Preclinical Research and Technology MUW; about new technologies and innovative research by MUW researchers, as well as promotional materials.
There were also many informational materials, including a brochure specially prepared for the occasion by the Communication and Promotion Office: "Technology, Innovation, Cooperation" as well as promotional materials. Our booth was very impressive, and the vivid colors caught the eye even from a distance.
