MUW specialists among newly appointed provincial medical consultants

On June 25, Prof. Renata Główczyńska, Prof. Ireneusz Nawrot, Prof. Agnieszka Szypowska and Jacek Lewandowski, MD, PhD, received their appointment acts as medical consultants for the Mazovian province. They were presented by Mazovian Governor Mariusz Frankowski.
  • Prof. Renata Główczyńska from the 1st Department of Cardiology UCC MUW and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine has been appointed to serve as provincial consultant in intensive care for the first term;
  • Prof. Ireneusz Nawrot, from the Clinical Department of General, Vascular, Endocrine and Transplant Surgery UCC MUW, has been appointed to serve as provincial consultant in angiology for the third term;
  • Prof. Agnieszka Szypowska, Acting Head of the Department of Pediatric Diabetology and Pediatrics UCC MUW, has been appointed to serve as provincial consultant in diabetology for the third term;
  • Jacek Lewandowski, MD, PhD, Acting Head of the Department of Internal Medicine, Hypertension and Vascular Diseases UCC MUW, has been appointed to serve as provincial consultant in hypertensiology for the third term.

During the ceremony, the governor expressed his thanks to Prof. Piotr Tyszka from the Department of Social Medicine and Public Health for serving as provincial consultant in the field of public health, and to Sylwia Lewandowska-Pachecka, MPharm, from the Department of Biochemistry and Pharmacogenomics for serving as provincial consultant in the field of pharmacy practice.

Among the tasks of consultants is to inspect medical entities in terms of the quality of services as well as professional education and training carried out. The role of consultants is also to prepare information on resources and staffing needs in their specialties. More than a hundred consultants in various fields of medicine, pharmacy and health care are appointed in the Mazovian province. Their term of office is five years.
