Half a century of helping others - jubilee of doctors and dentists

50 years ago they received their diplomas and began not easy, but beautiful path of helping and caring for others. And on June 13, within the walls of MUW, they met at a diploma renewal ceremony to celebrate this wonderful anniversary in the company of the rector's and dean's authorities.

The ceremony was attended by 105 people: 86 medical graduates and 19 dental graduates from the 1975 class. They came to MUW from all over Poland, but there were also people from the US, Canada, France, Germany, Austria and Australia.

And while the group was unique in that they meet regularly, the event within the university's walls was accompanied by many emotions: from nostalgia to pride and a sense of community. Despite the passage of years, the distance they live from each other and the different paths they chose after graduation, they are united by their past and their Alma Mater.

A symbol not only of the professional path, but also of life's mission

The ceremony was not only an opportunity to celebrate together, but also an expression of respect for those who for decades have brought help and hope to successive generations of patients. The symbolic diplomas presented at the ceremony honor the many years of fulfilling “the noble mission of helping the sick, training and shaping the attitudes of younger generations of doctors and developing the health care system.”

- I must say, and I say this sincerely and straight from the heart, that among the various ceremonies organized by the university, this ceremony has a special and unique character. And in real terms, because you are here with us, and symbolically, because it signifies the return of alumni to the Alma Mater. It is also proof of the bond with the faculty. And your résumés indicate that the education you gained within our walls has translated into your work, both clinically and organizationally, scientifically and didactically - Rector Professor Rafal Krenke addressed the honored guests.

“Thank you for this meeting, for remembering the graduates...”

- ...it reminds us of interesting times, full of youthful optimism and hope - said Prof. Romuald Krajewski, who spoke on behalf of the jubilarians. - Thank you for helping us save our studies from oblivion, very important years for us. We will meet regularly as long as we can. But 50 years only happens once. And let's enjoy this moment, this day, being together once again. We wish ourselves and the university many very good years.
