"We are proud to call ourselves graduates of the Faculty of Pharmacy today. I hope we will make good use of the knowledge we have gained and the values we have been taught in our future careers," said their representative, Julianna Mazurkiewicz, during the graduation ceremony. "We are proud to call ourselves graduates of the Faculty of Pharmacy today. I hope we will make good use of the knowledge we have gained and the values we have been taught in our future careers," said their representative, Julianna Mazurkiewicz, during the graduation ceremony.

The ceremony was held on 13 June 2026. On this important occasion, the graduates were joined by university authorities, faculty authorities and their loved ones. The Prof. Janusz Piekarczyk lecture hall, where the event took place, was completely filled.

The ceremony was full of pride and joy. It is hardly surprising as studies in pharmacy are demanding and involve a lot of responsibility for the health of future patients. Graduating from this program is, on the one hand, the result of determination, hard work and ambition, and on the other, a sign of maturity, courage and readiness to make responsible decisions.

"As you take on the tasks that this medical profession sets for you – I know that you are perfectly prepared for it, because our best teachers were involved in your education" said Prof. Piotr Luliński, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the host of the event.

Pharmacists – a key pillar of health care

The Rector of our university, Prof. Rafał Krenke, also congratulated the graduates. Recalling the ongoing jubilee of the 100th anniversary of the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Rector emphasized that the Faculty has been shaping the leaders of Polish health care since the very beginning of its existence.

"Today, you are adding your page to this book of honor," said Professor Krenke.

He noted that the professions of pharmacist and laboratory diagnostician are evolving towards an increasingly broader responsibility, combining patient care with the dynamic development of medical technologies.

"You are no longer just experts in particles – you are becoming one of the pillars of the healthcare system, and your knowledge helps save people's lives," said the Rector.

He wished the graduates pride in their degrees, curiosity about the world, commitment to professional ethics and that they remain good people regardless of the circumstances.

Continuation of legacy and commitment to the future

Although the faculty celebrates its centenary this year, Dr Agnieszka Bazylko, the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, pointed out that the history of teaching pharmacy in Warsaw goes back much further – to 1809. It was at that time that Józef Jan Celiński, a pharmacist and one of the founding fathers of our university, sought to advance the academic education of pharmacists.

As the Vice Dean emphasized, the people who make up the faculty have always been and still are brave people, full of vision and convinced that knowledge should, above all, serve society.

"This legacy has been taken over by your university teachers. In recent years, they have not only guided you through the world of pharmacy, but also taught you critical thinking, scientific integrity and professional responsibility. And today, this legacy is being passed on to you," emphasized Dr Agnieszka Bazylko. "It is up to you what the pharmacy of subsequent decades will look like. May the awareness of being part of this community be an inspiration, a source of strength and responsibility for you."

Oath-taking ceremony and awards for outstanding graduates

The graduates declared to perform their duties in accordance with the law and to the best of their knowledge, to uphold professional confidentiality and act in accordance with the principles of honesty and conscientiousness. The event was marked with the Latin phrase "Salus aegroti suprema lex esto" – the health of the patient is the supreme law. The oath was received by Prof. Olga Ciepiela, the Vice Dean of the faculty. Then, they received their long-awaited diplomas.

The presentation of the Golden Laurel of the Graduate is a regular feature of the graduation ceremony. It is the award for the highest average grade. This year, it was received by Anna Ewa Rosiak, who scored 4.93.
