Five projects of our university funded by the Medical Research Agency

The Medical Research Agency has published a ranking list after taking into account the appeals procedure, including the results of the second round of the Head-to-Head Research Competition for non-commercial clinical trials or research experiments. Twenty-two projects were recommended for funding, including three following the appeals procedure.

The Medical Research Agency received 76 applications with a total value of PLN 932 803 796.08. A total of 70 applications were submitted for substantive evaluation. In the end, the Medical Research Agency decided to raise the original allocation for Round II by an additional PLN 38 611 836.97.

Projects of our University that received funding:

  • "Early supplementation in the prevention of cow's milk allergy in breastfed infants: a randomized study - a medical experiment" - funding in the amount of PLN 22,077,864.75;
  • "Diagnosis of inflammatory processes by PET/CT technique using [18F]FDG and [18F]the subject’s own Leukocytes" - funding in the amount of PLN 3,936,988.36;
  • "Prospective, randomized study to evaluate the efficacy of preoperative portal hypertension modulation in patients at increased risk of massive blood loss during liver transplantation" - funding in the amount of PLN 3,498,741.60;
  • "Randomized study comparing the efficacy of endoscopic gastric plication with minimally invasive bariatric surgery or conservative treatment in patients with obesity and associated diseases" - funding of PLN 13,204,885.26;
  • "Prospective randomized research experiment evaluating the impact of ctDNA testing in patients after liver resection or transplantation for metastatic colorectal cancer or hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) on treatment strategies and distant survival" - funding in the amount of PLN 4,384,963.82.
