The candidates in the plebiscite are evaluated according to three criteria, which are: achievements and activities in a given year, professional reputation and influence in the medical community or in the Polish health care system, as well as strength of public influence. The selection is made by a jury of experts, representatives of patient organizations and the editors of "Puls Medycyny."

Among the most influential people in Polish medicine in 2023 were:
