Grand prize and three honorable mentions for our specialists in the "Perspectives on Medicine" competition

The ONE HEALTH conference, organized by the Health Committee of the Senate of the Republic of Poland and the Program Council of the Congress "Health of the Poles", took place on March 25. During it, the winners of the third edition of the "Perspectives on Medicine" competition were announced. Among the winners were specialists from our university: Prof. Magdalena Bujalska-Zadrożny, Dr. Antonina Doroszewska, Dr. Łukasz Kołtowski and Dr. Bartosz Krzowski.

Winners from MUW

Two awards were given in the "Modern Medical Education" category. One went to Prof. Magdalena Bujalska-Zadrożny, Head of the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Pharmaceutical Care and also Head of the postgraduate program "Professional Pharmaceutical Care" for "promoting and implementing pharmaceutical care services as an interdisciplinary approach to medical services by developing an educational program to prepare pharmacists to provide pharmaceutical care services."

Honorable mention in this category went to Dr. Antonina Doroszewska, Head of the Department of Medical Communication MUW for "promoting the teaching of communication in medicine at medical schools, emphasizing its importance and relevance to the future work of medics, as well as integrating the communication community by organizing national conferences and seminars on communication." On behalf of Dr. Antonina Doroszewska, the award was received by Anna Kołodziejek of the Department of Medical Communication.

In the "Innovations and implementations" category, the award went to Łukasz Kołtowski, MD, PhD, from the 1st Chair and Department of Cardiology UCC MUW, for "implementation of an innovative artificial intelligence system for analyzing CT images, which enables accurate assessment of atherosclerotic plaque by identifying high-risk features." Prof. Grzegorz Opolski received the award on behalf of Łukasz Kołtowski, MD, PhD.

In the "Telemedicine and e-Health Services" category, the honorable mention went to Bartosz Krzowski, MD, PhD, from the 1st Chair and Department of Cardiology UCC MUW, for his "innovative approach to the care of patients after a heart attack using a mobile application for patients - afterAMI."

About the competition

The purpose of the "Perspectives of Medicine" competition is to promote experts, leaders and teams that contribute to raising the level of Polish medicine and supporting positive changes in health care in Poland, while improving the quality of medical care, and popularizing pro-health attitudes. The competition accompanies the annual "Health of the Poles" Congress.
