The Novartis International Biotechnology Leadership Camp (BioCamp) is a pioneering three-day seminar for 60 selected top students science, information technology and business universities from around the world.
Held at Novartis International Headquarters in Basel, Switzerland, the program offers participants an opportunity to:
- Interact with key Novartis scientists who lead our unique approach to drug discovery
- Learn about breakthrough new medicines to address patients’ unmet medical needs
- Understand trends and challenges in the biotechnology sector
- Receive first-hand experience about starting and running a biotech company
- Explore career opportunities in the healthcare and biotech industries
- Network with talented students from other countries and get in touch with Novartis associates
We invite local university students focusing on medicine, natural sciences, business administration and/or information technology to apply for the 2016 International BioCamp. A total of 60 selected students from around the world will be chosen based on their academic record, professional experience and extracurricular activities. Novartis will cover all travel and accommodation expenses of the selected students. The event will be held in English and fluency in English is required.

Day One: Welcome to Basel
Day Two: Biotechnology and global trends
- The future of new medicines (applying innovation in biotechnology)
- New developments in the life sciences (how new scientific insights impact both academia and business
- The practicalities of drug discovery
Day Three: – Becoming a biotech startup (first-hand experience about starting a biotechnology company)
- Planning from design to delivery (workshop on how to develop and launch a pharmaceutical product)
- What makes biologic manufacturing unique (including visit to a Novartis biologics facility)
Day Four: Careers in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries
- The future of the industry
- Business perspectives and opportunities
