HR Excellence in Research
The Medical University of Warsaw, as the first medical school in Poland, obtained in June 2016 the right to use the Human Resources Excellence in Research logo.
Our University has implemented the rules specified in the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers and has obliged to apply them to increase the attractiveness of the work conditions of reseachers.
The process of implementation of these rules began at the end of April 2015, when the Medical University of Warsaw presented to the European Commission a declaration of the implementation of the rules specified in the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
The aim of this endeavour is to increase the innovativeness and competitiveness of science by creating the atmosphere which is conducive to research, ensuring that researchers can enjoy stable work conditions on every stage of their professional path and a friendly and ethical work environment.
The European Commission has recognised our actions as relevant and effective, conferring on us the right to use the prestigious logo of the title 'HR Excellence in Research”.
Obtaining of this title, according to the earlier announcements by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, will be:
- Rewarded in the process of obtaining European grants from the Horizon 2020 programme and of the national grants
- Awarded points by the Committee for the Evaluation of Research Units during the evaluation of the units
- Taken into account during competitions included in the programmes of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education as an additional evaluation criterion
Additionally, the application of the rules specified in the Charter and the Code will help our University become a more competitive employer for those who wish to develop their scientific career.
Activities connected with the implementation of these rules have been performed by an eleven-person team consisting of researchers from all faculties, PhD candidates and administration personnel, under the direction of Vice Rector for Human Resources, Professor Renata Górska.
