Prof. Piotr Siciński graduated from the Medical University of Warsaw in 1984. He also earned his Ph.D. at our university. In 1997, he joined the faculty at Harvard University and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. His groundbreaking researches on the mechanisms of the cell cycle laid the foundation for the development of modern targeted therapies for cancer treatment. In recognition of the professor’s global achievements, the Medical University of Warsaw awarded him an honorary doctorate in 2026.
A lecture titled “Targeting the cell cycle machinery in cancer” will take place on Wednesday, June 17, at 3:00 p.m. in room 30 of the Main Library at 63 Żwirki i Wigury Street.
The event is organized by the Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University of Warsaw in cooperation with Section V of the Warsaw Scientific Society.
