Medical University of Warsaw recipient of Erasmus + Strategic Partnerships grant as Consortium Partner in the CLILMED project

The main goal of the CLILMED project is to equip academic teachers of medicine and healthcare sciences with the skills needed today to teach effectively in English in multicultural and multilingual classrooms. The CLILMED project consortium will begin working on the project as of October 31, 2019.

Consortium partners include Luminar Foundation (Coordinator, Poland), Karolinska Institutet (Sweden), Atlantic Language (Ireland), Semmelweis University (Hungary), University of Pecs (Hungary), University of Szeged (Hungary), Medical University of Gdańsk (Poland), Jagiellonian University School of Medicine (Poland) and Medical University of Warsaw (Poland).

The project entails training of selected academic teachers according to the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) method recommended by the European Commission to promote language learning and linguistic diversity. Important features of this method are: systematic work in groups, diversifying methods & forms of classroom teaching and learning, increasing learner motivation, introducing a wider cultural context to content lessons and improving overall English language competence.
